I think Zelda and Tomb Raider fits all those catergoreys.

I agree. All the Zelda games are incredible.
I remember when I was a kid playing Link to the Past. I was stuck at the desert dungeon for almost a month. Then one day, I lit all the torches and the wall moved. (I was not that bright back then)
I must say, Zelda is quite a logic and problem solving game. I love how challenging sometimes it can be even though its a game about a boy going on a quest to save the princess and Hyrule.
