When I pierce my lip can a piercing kit work? If it does what size of lip ring should i get?
WOOOWWW ok, the answers on this one are funny, first off there's NO cartilage in the lip. The lip is mostly composed of soft tissues.
Now for the self-piercing part, would you operate on yourself? NO, you would go see a professional. What do you know about anatomy? You don't even know the right size to use for your jewellery. What do you know about cross contamination? Do you know how to sterilize your equipment? Probably not much. Alcohol or boiling you stuff does NOT kill Hepatitis C or AIDS which are both VERY fatal diseases. Not to mention that Staph (different strains) are present on almost every surface, do you want to take the chance to get any of those? Nope. What do you know about different types of jewellery and metals? Probably not much. Part of having a healthy piercing is the jewellery, hows the finition, what grade is the metal... Do you know what gauges are? Probably not, gauges are the sizes of the jewellery and needles. Internally or externally threaded jewellery? You probably don't know this either. Now talking about needles, do you know what needle to use? Tri-beveled or maybe safety pins? Of course not the safety pins.
Now let's get things straight, we (piercers) studied HOW to do the piericngs for a few years, it took us YEARS to know everything. Do you really think you're competant enough to do this piercing? I'm not putting you down, but you need to open your eyes and udnerstand that piercing isn't just a needle in your body, you can get an infection, a nasty scar... You only have one body, take care of it. As a piercer I see a lot, a LOT of screwed up piercings that I have to fix, don't be one of them.
