What do you think WWE would do if this happened at the Royal Rumble?

If during the Royal Rumble match the wrestler who was supposed to win, accidentally fell out of the ring? Like if the wrestler who was scripted to win the match, during one of his "close calls" when he is almost thrown over, but just manages to hang, he loses his grip and falls out of the ring? The PPV is live, so it would be hard to cover up, not to mention the entire arena had just seen him get eliminated.

They'd probably play it off like it didn't happen, like the refs didn't see him fall out, or act like he went through the 2nd rope and never show the replay.
